I’ve been lucky enough to play at the very top of brass banding for many years and have played mutes from several of the well known manufacturers but in my opinion this is a must for any cornet or trumpet player. Mute changes in brass banding can cause many problems as sometimes you don’t have time to move tuning slides and due to the complexity of the music, it’s not always an option just to 'lip it'.
